The Freedom Walker for the Elderly was designed for users with reduced mobility, with shorter strides. Therefore, its hand rests and brake handles are closer to the body’s center of gravity. This makes the equipment safer and more practical.
It has 4 wheels, the 2 front ones with rotating forks. Larger than the wheels of conventional walkers, they provide greater stability and lightness for the driver when moving around.
Brake modes
The first brake is the driver’s brake, which locks the walker’s wheel. It is used during movement, to keep the walker still while the user takes a step, providing the necessary support safely.
The second is the parking brake. It is used to keep the walker completely still for longer periods of time, such as when stopping, transporting the walker or using the seat.
Transportation
The Freedom Walker Plus Wheeled Walker is a very light and compact piece of equipment. It has an X-shaped closure, which greatly reduces its size and takes up little space, and can be transported in non-adapted vehicles, including between the back seats of a car.
To store it, simply apply the parking brake and pull the red handle located in the middle of the seat.
Accessories
There are five accessories for the Freedom Walker Plus Orthopedic Walker:
Basket: This can be very useful, especially for users who use the walker more actively. It serves as an object holder and can be used to place groceries or a bag, for example.
Tray (Optional): This can be used to eat during a stop. Positioned just above the walker seat, it can be placed either horizontally or vertically.
